AusGroup was pleased to welcome Mayor Carol Adams to its Kwinana fabrication and manufacturing facility on Monday, to showcase a hive of activity being carried out by its local workforce.

Established in 1989, the Kwinana facility currently has over 100 skilled employees who are working to support a number of our clients, including MSP Engineering on their Kwinana and Greenbushes Lithium projects, Woodside, Chevron, WorleyParsons and Wood.

With a strong in-house capability, the Kwinana facility manufactures specialty piping, structural steel and heavy plate fabrication and all the non-destructive testing requirements for the oil and gas and resources markets. It also houses sheet metal, insulation and painting workshops and a welding school.

CEO Shane Kimpton said “We are proud to continue supporting the local Kwinana area through job, apprenticeship training and development opportunities. We currently have over 300 employees living in Kwinana and surrounding areas, and over 200 of these are working at our Kwinana facility and Tianqi Lithium Kwinana site.”

Mayor Carol Adams said “It was great to be invited to tour the AusGroup facility in Kwinana. It proved to be a real eye opener for me, having not been so close to large fabrication works before. Not only is AusGroup a long-standing member of Kwinana’s industrial zone, but they are also an employer of the local workforce and proud supporter of our local community. The future for AusGroup and Kwinana looks very promising as they expand into servicing WA’s lithium industry, having been established in oil and gas here for decades.”
