On Tuesday 20 August, members of the MAS leadership team were fortunate enough to attend Shell House on behalf of the Prelude FLNG offshore team, to present a $15,000 donation to the Wirrpanda Foundation.

The Wirrpanda Foundation is a not-for-profit organisation, which aims to improve the quality of life for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Australians across its four pillars of education, employment, justice and sport. MAS was awarded with the project ‘Contractor of the Month’ award in January for HSE excellence, which provided us with the opportunity to make a donation to a charity of its choice.

In accepting the donation, program managers Troy Cook and Josie Janz-Dawson said that it will profoundly impact the Foundation’s ability to empower and build capacity in ATSI Australian communities. To show their appreciation, they invited MAS to the Foundation’s Annual Dinner in October, an opportunity to strengthen our relationship.

In addition to our Perfect Day initiative, donations like these allow us to take stock of why we work safely, and further solidifies our commitment to the tenets of our Environment, Community and Corporate Social Responsibility Policy.
