
The Project
AGC Kwinana was subcontracted to Chevron for works related to the Wheatstone.
The Scope
Supply, fabrication and installation of all painting and Insulation for works related to the potable water line. Undertaken at AusGroup’s Kwinana Operations, once the pre-insulation installation of each spool was complete, the spool were specially packed and sent directly to Wheatstone Onshore facility in Onslow, WA for the onsite team to mechanically assemble the pipe and install the insulation boxes at all fanged connection.
Challenges
- AGC QA/QC identified the original proposed standard insulation specification was sub-standard in relation to the changed site environment
- AGC QC receivables inspection process identified pipes and materials were non-compatible with new service requirements
- The areas of technical improvements were aligned with Chevron and processed through respective quality systems
- AGC technical team provided a practical rectification solution aligned with project basis of design standards and a demanding schedule
