Continuous Improvement Initiatives

  • During the tender stage of the project, AusGroup understood that Chevron were looking for a step change in the execution of brownfield projects and in particular the risk and reward type commercial model. For this reason, AusGroup was able to submit Lump Sum proposals to Chevron for both the fabrication and site installation components of the project to ensure we delivered the right, outcome-focused commercial model to reduce risk and increase certainty. During the execution of the Lump Sum fabrication component AusGroup provided very reasonable and structured Variation Management process.
  • During the planning phase of the installation component of the project, AusGroup worked closely with Chevron to provide the most cost effective solution that also allowed flexibility through the significant Train 1 Turnaround that was planned for the Gorgon Facility in 2019. This included splitting the execution into multiple phases and scheduling the expensive heavy lift components of the project to align with the T1 turnaround.
  • When the project was postponed indefinitely, AusGroup offered to assist Chevron with the arrangement of the preservation works to be executed by a specialist subcontractor. This included planning for preservation of the material already delivered to site as well as the material that was to be stored at a warehouse in Karratha.
